Ticking Stripe Tiles & Trims
Our contemporary take on the classic Ticking Stripe. Taking its signature appearance and adding a modern twist with the two-tones of colour onto tiles and dado trims, the pattern's clean, linear design gives it both a traditional and timeless appeal. Available in blue, green, crimson, mustard, manganese and sepia.
‘Ticking’ comes from the Greek word 'Theka' which means case or covering, it was originally a humble thick striped fabric used to cover mattresses until the 20th century.
A cheap fabric popularised in the 1940's by popular interior designer Dorothy “Sister" Parish who famously decorated the White House for the Kennedys. Parish was known for her use of ticking stripe fabric combined with florals to achieve the "American Country look”.
As with many of our designs Petra has taken inspiration and created a timeless tile design with matching trims. You can also mix and match them with our Delft Tiles to create a layered and interesting look.
