Ticking Stripe Tiles & Trims
Our modern take on the classic Ticking Stripe adds a fresh twist with two-tone colours on tiles and dado trims. Its clean, linear design offers both traditional and timeless appeal. Available in blue, green, crimson, mustard, manganese and sepia.
The term ‘Ticking’ comes from the Greek word ‘Theka,’ meaning case or covering. Originally, it was a thick striped fabric used to cover mattresses until the 20th century.
Popularised in the 1940s by designer Dorothy “Sister” Parish, who decorated the White House for the Kennedys, ticking stripe fabric became a hallmark of the “American Country” look, often paired with florals.
As with many of our designs Petra has taken inspiration and created a timeless tile design with matching trims. You can also mix and match them with our Delft Tiles to create a layered and interesting look.
