Francesca Leat Interiors
When it comes to creating spaces that feel both joyful and considered, Francesca Leat Interiors has a special touch. Their recent project featuring our Longchamp Summer wallpaper is a perfect example — a bedroom nook transformed into a lively yet cocooning retreat, full of clever pattern play and warmth. The result is a space that feels at once practical and uplifting, proving just how powerful wallpaper can be in shaping mood and atmosphere. We caught up with founder, Francesca, to hear more about her inspirations, approach to design, and the story behind this beautiful project. Here’s what she had to say…
What was the inspiration behind this gorgeous nook bedroom?
We wanted this space to be vibrant and happy so naturally gravitated to the Longchamp wallpaper immediately when we saw it
How did you approach layering patterns — from the wallpaper to the ceiling and textiles — without overwhelming the space?
I always find it’s easy to layer textiles and patterns in smaller spaces which is why this room lends itself really well to the concept. We decided to add multiple cushions on the bed in order to incorporate every favourite fabric and added contrast fringing to give further punch.
What role did our wallpaper play in shaping the overall design concept?
We knew we wanted a fun and playful wallpaper in here and the yellow colour way stood out straight away as something eye catching and unique.
The nook feels both playful and restful; how did you strike that balance?
My style is generally relatively bold and joyful so it was an easy one to put together from that side of things. We then designed the bed joinery to include shelves and space for books in order to create the cosy nook to prioritise comfort and cosiness.
Can you share any tips for making smaller spaces like this feel inviting and full of character?
More is more! Don’t be afraid to use multiple textures and colours and have some fun with it! Accessories and artwork make a huge difference as well.
Which detail in this room makes you happiest, and why?
The two wallpapers complimenting each other in a whimsical and playful nature brings both myself and my client’s a lot of joy!
