Behind the Design

Wallpapers

Inspired by the extensive archives of Tapisserie, the specialist hand-painted needlework company founded in 1986 by Petra's mother, Hayat Palumbo. The six designs in multiple colour ways reflect our brands nostalgic yet modern aesthetic.

Made to order, no minimum. Proudly printed in the UK.

The Belle Époque was the era when French culture and arts flourished, Leopard and Roses is a celebration of les cocottes, Paris-based courtesans whose taste dictated fashion.

This classic design Poles and Roses pays homage to Marie-Antoinette’s love of simple patterns which we she favoured when spending time at her royal retreat, Petit Trianon. The design is feminine and airy and comes in two scales, small and large.

The Ladybird is universal a symbol of good luck — this wallpaper is bright and beautiful with its repeat pattern of the ladybirds in contrast with the geometric line of the foliage trellis.

Inspired by joyful confetti at parties, Confetti is a celebratory design which is light-hearted and fun print that has movement to it.

Mrs Platt is impactful in its small scale and subtle gradient of colour. The design is based on the wings of the mythical bird, the Phoenix. A great design to use in guest loos, corridors, bars or dining rooms.

Longchamp is a bold yet playful design that is reminiscent of the swinging 1960’s. The original design was inspired by the work of painter, textile designer, fashion and costume designer who pioneered Orphism — Sonia Delaunay.
