Our client originally envisioned a dramatic, wall-to-wall pinstripe look that would wrap the entire space in a bold, continuous pattern. While the concept was undeniably stunning, the initial estimate for a fully tiled room came out over budget. Rather than abandoning the aesthetic altogether, we collaborated closely with the client to rethink the layout. By experimenting with tile placement, as shown in the four design sketches below, we looked for strategic ways to maximise visual impact while keeping costs firmly grounded.

The breakthrough came by alternating our vibrant  Crimson Pinstripe tiles with classic Plain Field Tiles. This approach allowed us to deliver that high-impact, boutique look the client craved at a much more comfortable price point. To elevate the design further, we framed the sections with Studded White Trims and cleverly juxtaposed square and diagonal orientations. This mix of angles creates a subtle, repeating cadence that draws the eye and gives the space a custom, designer feel that uniform tiling simply couldn't replicate.

The final space achieves a striking, three-dimensional continuity that feels balanced, interesting, and visually impactful. With the striped pattern flowing seamlessly down the vertical walls, across a clever ledge shelf, and onto the bath front, the room feels entirely cohesive and intentionally curated. It is a powerful reminder that you don't need an endless budget to create a show-stopping interior, sometimes, all it takes is a little creativity and the right layout expertise.
