At Petra Palumbo, four pillars shape everything we make: joy, craft, conscience, and compassion. Pattern is the language that connects them all.
1. Joyful Design
Pattern is Petra's primary language, the thread that connects every surface, every collection, every room. As a pattern house, we believe the same motif should be free to travel from tile to wallpaper to trim, layered and mixed until a space truly comes alive. Colour is its companion: expressive, optimistic, never an afterthought. We believe every home should feel like a celebration of the people and stories within it and that joyful, considered pattern is one of the most human ways to bring that to life.
2. Tradition meets Innovation
Behind every Petra Palumbo piece lies the skill of human hands and generations of expertise. We honour and evolve craft traditions, collaborating with artisans who share our values of patience and care, while also embracing innovation. From reimagined techniques to applying pattern on unexpected surfaces like dado trims, we’re always exploring new ways to keep craftsmanship alive and forward-looking.
3. Conscious Craft
Guided by care and respect for the world we live in, we create homewares designed to endure, made responsibly, with integrity and intention. Every decision, from material to maker, reflects our commitment to sustainability and quality. We work only with manufacturers whose environmental and labour practices align with our values, ensuring everything we make is crafted beautifully, ethically, and to last.
4. Beyond the Home
For Petra, care extends beyond the craft itself. Deeply moved by the world around her, she believes design can enrich empathy as much as beauty. Working within the realm of luxury doesn’t lessen her love for it but it does create a tension. She’s learned to embrace that contradiction, to let it keep her grounded, and to remember the bigger picture, that design has a responsibility not just to delight, but to do good.
Petra believes every child is sacred, and that design, at its best, can nurture not only homes but hearts.
That's why we support War Child, helping to protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children living in war zones.
With every purchase, you can add a voluntary £1 donation at checkout, which we will match, a small but meaningful way of turning empathy into action.
