Visiting Our Tile Factory
In November 2024, I visited our Tile factory in Stoke-on-Trent with my team. It was incredible to see the processes and machinery, some dating back to the 1930s!
The craftsmanship behind every Tile and Trim is exceptional — from making the dye (and we're the only business that uses this specific size and format, our 12.5 x 12.5cm tile) then the biscuit, followed by glazing, firing in the kiln, selecting and packaging.
Our Tiles and Tile Trims are crafted with immense skill and care, and I’m proud to support British manufacturing. The quality is unmatched.
Stoke-on-Trent, the “Pottery Capital of the World,” has a rich ceramic history, booming during the Industrial Revolution. Iconic brands like Wedgwood, Royal Doulton, and Spode made it the global ceramic hub specialising in fine bone china, porcelain, and dinnerware.
Today, while the traditional industry has waned, Stoke’s legacy lives on through museums and galleries like the World of Wedgwood and Gladstone Pottery Museum, blending history with modern ceramic art.
